At the Foundational level, the emphasis is on fostering the curiosity of our young community learners, building on their learning styles while ensuring that our academic goals are met. Anekam follows the 5E model of learning: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate. Reading, Writing, and Numeracy are given attention and inquiry-based learning is followed. Classrooms provide flexible and personal attention and care to the young learner, with resources available within the learning zone. Our teachers are very caring and engage the child in a manner that enables them to build a strong academic foundation—literacy and numeracy skills, spoken language, and physical education. The focus is on games and outdoor activities that enable the child to explore new ways of thinking and interaction. Teachers also cultivate strong social and emotional skills in the child, identify their passions, and understand each child’s unique learning style.
The integrated curriculum at the preparatory level aligns with the guidelines of the New Education Policy (NEP 2020). The curriculum at the preparatory level is directed towards developing in children, a sense of creativity, reflection, and connection. The Integrated Academic programme strengthens both the sports curricula and the academic curricula as our learners reach the Middle School. The Art Studio is a gallery where student work is displayed. The Art teachers indulge students in learning pottery, sculpture, painting, needlework, crafts and other discussions and workshops. The Music Studio is predominantly the space for instrumental and vocal music, the chorus gathering, and a place for training and performance.
Anekam has both Junior and Senior libraries with a variety of books on various subjects apart from books and a collection of short stories, novels, reference books, encyclopedias, dailies, magazines and journals. Storytelling sessions and workshops on puppetry, reviews of books, writer sessions, book weeks, reading programmes, fests and other library activities .
Anekam has two labs: Junior School lab and Senior Computer lab. We at Anekam are clear that as educators we aim to ensure that technology integration happens early at school.
